Contraception Clinic

We provide a full range of contraceptive services including pills, injections, implants and coils at Castle Place Practice.

If you are unsure what contraception would suit you please send in an Accurx and we will arrange an appointment to discuss with a GP.

To start a contraceptive pill

Please send in an Accurx to start a pill. You will then be given an appointment with a GP to discuss this and start the pill for you.

For a pill check

Please send in an Accurx informing use you are due your pill check. You will be sent an online questionnaire to complete. If this flags up any problems one of our Practice Nurses will contact you to follow up.

To start the Depot Injection

Please send in an Accurx requesting to start this. A GP telephone appointment will be arranged to discuss your suitability for this kind of contraception and if suitable you will be given a Practice Nurse appointment to have the injection.

To book your next Depot injection

Please send in an Accurx telling us when your injection is due at least 2 weeks before it runs out. We will then book you an appointment to come and have it with the Practice Nurse.

For a new implant or coil

Please send an Accurx informing us you would like an implant or coil fitted. A telephone appointment with a GP who fits coils and implants will be made for you. Once you have had this appointment you will be added to our waiting list and will then be contacted with a date to have the coil or implant to fitted. It is an approximate 4 to 8 week’s wait for a fitting appointment.

For a replacement implant or coil

Please send in an Accurx detailing when your coil or implant is due to be changed. You will be added to the waiting list and we will contact you when an appointment is available.

For the Morning After Pill

You can go direct to any local pharmacy as soon as you realise you have had unprotected sex. They can then give or sell you the morning after pill depending on your circumstances.

If you need to contact us please send in an Accurx and we will deal with your request that day. Please clearly state when you had unprotected sex and where you are in your cycle.

For any other contraceptive concerns, please send in an Accurx and you will be given a GP telephone appointment to discuss.
